Why Organic Fertilizers
Organic can be defined as natural substances with devoid of chemicals. Organic fertilizers can be defined as manure, functional in farms as nutrients resource for yielding and harvesting of various crop plantations. Organic fertilizers are obtained from the composition of minerals, vegetable matters and multiple combinations of plant and animal extracts. Mineral materials in organic fertilizer are usually with negligible processing or without any processing.
Advantages of organic fertilizer
- Organic fertilizers are produced on the farms itself reducing, cost of conveyance.
- Insoluble nitrogen present in fertilizers transforms it into a slow-release fertilizer. This nitrogen is organic in nature which improves the quality of the soils with producing nutrition rich plantations of various vegetable, fruits grains etc.
- Non- organic fertilizers used for farming leads to increased usage of artificial chemicals, in turn resulting to various nutrients elimination hazards.
- Organic fertilizers are stable, having a slow-release property.
- They are granular and have fewer tendencies to percolate.
Organic Farming Needs Organic Pesticides
Organic pesticides are the compounds used for restricting the assault of unwanted pests and insects on different crops and plantations. Organic pesticides include fungicides, herbicides and insecticides. Organic pesticides are obtained from natural resources like plant extracts, plant oils and salts of fatty acids. These resources are rotenone, boric acid, and cryolite.
Emerging awareness amongst consumers, have made them increasingly health conscious. They are inclined to consume organic substances. Hence organic farming or producing organic harvests have gained momentum in recent times.
Most of the organic pesticides are mainly insecticides. These pesticides are the one which kills harmful bacteria’s but retains the nutrient friendly bacteria’s in soil.
Some of these pesticides are diatomaceous, Neem based, garlic-based, lemon-based and many more.
Organic fertilizers compared to synthetic fertilizers proves more advantageous in improving the quality of soils by providing supplemented nutrients in soils while it improves the soil composition and have slow release on nutrients and other liquid minerals rich in nutrients.
Some of the bio pesticides are namely
- Verticilliums
- Gliocladium
- Metarrihizium
- Baeuveria and many more.
Organic fertilizers eradicate insects, pests in the croplands.
The by-products of vegetable and plants are known as humus. Humus is an important element for cultivating plants. It contains cellulose, which is responsible for preserving the percentage of moisture in soil.
