Applications of Vermiculite Fertilizers
Agriculture
Vermiculite is a carrier of pesticide, insecticide, herbicide air and water in dried plantations. BHF vermiculite fertilizers are used since last several years. We perform in-depth research on vermiculite with identifying its usage in various industries. Vermiculite is odorless, chemically inert, safe, inexpensive and sterile. It also has caution exchange characteristic. It holds water and nutrients elements like magnesium, calcium, potassium and ammonium which are essential for crop plantations.
When vermiculite based organic fertilizers are combined with natural organic soil manure, it turns into an advancement of fast growth for newly harvested roots. Hence it proves beneficial for agricultural purposes. It acts as a bulking agent which in turn results into balanced circulation of important minerals in soils.
Construction
Vermiculite is also used in the form of insulation in bricks, thermal insulation, electrical and particle boards. As vermiculite has an excellent insulation property it is used extensively in construction industries.
Exfoliated vermiculite is largely used in the manufacture of boards, false ceilings and partitions.
Horticulture
Having the combination of good crop plantation, yielding climatic condition and a proper blend of fertilizer and pesticides is very essential for horticulture industry.
Vermiculite is odorless, chemically inert, safe, inexpensive and sterile. It has water and nutrient holding capacity and is non-toxic. Hence, vermiculite used for horticulture improves the quality of soil aeration, soil drainage and preserves water and air in soil, relieving it, when it is necessary. It is important for breeding roots and improves the pace of seed germination.
Other industrial Uses of Vermiculite
Vermiculite is fire resistant and light weight. It has, moisture, nutrients, chemical inert and other liquid holding properties which makes it useful for numerous industrial applications like
- Insulation in cryogenic tanks
- Used as absorbent packing in lab packs
- used as abrasives
- used as fillers in plastics
- as aggregates in well cements
- friction linings
- litter management and treatment
- oil well cements
- incubating turtle eggs in vermiculite
- Liquid filtrations
- High temperature insulations
Vermiculite can be obtained in various sizes and can be expanded to different levels of expansion.
